Course Highlights
Course objective
Comprehensive training in planning, implementation and Quality assurance in 3 Dimensional Conformal Radiation Therapy (3DCRT), Intensity Modulated Radiation Therapy (IMRT), Image Guided Radiation Therapy (IGRT), Stereotactic Radio surgery (SRS) and Stereotactic Body Radiation Therapy (SBRT) including planning and implementation of RPM and exactas gating and training in brachy-therapy procedures.
The curriculum will be delivered in a series of 7 modules. In order to complete the course, the student must successfully complete all modules. The following modules are headed by module chairs who are the Directors of Departments / HODs / senior consultants working at the Max Hospitals.
Course offerings
PRACTICAL EXPOSURE – Candidates will be given exposure to real cases in the department under the supervision of faculty.

- Module 1 : Linear Accelerator- Introduction
- Module 2 : CT simulator and mould room
- Module 3: Treatment Planning System (TPS)- Contouring, dose prescription
- Module 4: TPS- Planning
- Module 5: TPS – Plan evaluation
- Module 6: Quality assurance (QA)
- Module 7: Plan implementation and imaging
- Module 8: Transition to Independent Clinical Practice
Who can enroll
Candidate (s) pursuing or within 3 years of passing out M.D. or DNB in Radiation Oncology from NMC recognized college /hospital or equivalent
Evaluations and Grading
ASSESSMENT –
Evaluation will be based on objective every module will be followed by an assessment by at the end of the course
Certification
Successful candidates will be awarded a certificate by Max Institute of Medical Education.
