Fellowship In Family Medicine is a structured academic program designed to strengthen the capabilities of primary care physicians in today’s evolving healthcare environment.

Family medicine is the cornerstone of effective healthcare delivery. Physicians are often the first point of contact for patients and their families, and play a crucial role in providing continuous, comprehensive, and patient-centered care across all age groups. This fellowship has been developed with the objective of enhancing these essential competencies.

The program aims to equip practicing doctors with the knowledge and clinical confidence to manage a wide range of acute and chronic medical conditions commonly encountered in everyday practice. It places a strong emphasis on evidence-based medicine, rational clinical decision-making, and a practical approach to patient care.

In addition to disease management, the fellowship focuses on preventive healthcare, lifestyle modification, and early identification of high-risk conditions. It also highlights the importance of timely and appropriate referral, ensuring that patients receive the right care at the right time.

At the end of this fellowship, participants will be able to perform

Make timely and appropriate referral decisions, Preventive & Lifestyle Medicine, Implement screening and preventive strategies, provide counselling on diet, exercise, and lifestyle changes, Promote long-term health and disease prevention, Continuity & Holistic Care, address psychosocial aspects of illness, deliver care across all age groups – pediatric to geriatric, Communication & Ethics,

Enhance communication skills to build doctor–patient relationship, Improve counselling and shared decision-making, Practice ethical and medico-legally sound medicine, Telemedicine & Digital Practice, Conduct effective teleconsultations, Maintain proper digital documentation, Rational Prescribing, Practice cost-effective and safe prescribing, Minimize polypharmacy and ensuring adherence, Community-Oriented Practice, Understand national health priorities and vaccination programs, Contribute to preventive and public health initiatives, Continuous Professional Development, Engage in lifelong learning and stay updated with evolving clinical practices, Critically appraise medical literature

At the end of the program candidates will develop into a confident, competent, and compassionate family physician capable of delivering high-quality primary care in diverse clinical settings.

Evaluations will be based on Assessment post course completion.

MBBS and above with valid NMC or State Medical council registration.

Successful candidates will be awarded a certificate by Max Institute of Medical Education.
