Course objective:
- Basic Life Support (BLS) for healthcare professional’s trains participants to promptly recognize several life-threatening emergencies, give high-quality CPR, deliver appropriate ventilations and provide early use of an AED.
Course offerings:
- High-quality CPR for adults, children, and infants
- The AHA Chain of Survival, specifically the BLS components
- Important early use of an AED
- Effective ventilations using a barrier device
- Importance of teams in multirescuer resuscitation and performance as an effective team member during multirescuer CPR
- Relief of foreign-body airway obstruction (choking) for adults and infants

For healthcare providers – Like, EMS personnel, physician assistants, physicians, dentists,nurses, respiratory therapists and other personnel who need to know how to perform CPR and other basic cardiovascular life support skills in a wide variety of in-facility and prehospital settings.s

Evaluations and Grading:
To successfully complete this course and receive your BLS course completion card, students
must do the following as per AHA norms:
- Participate in hands-on interactive demonstrations of high-quality CPR skills
- Pass the Adult CPR and AED Skills Test
- Pass the Infant CPR Skills Test
- Score at least 84% on the exam
Evaluations will be based on Assessment post course completion:
- Written exam and skills test
